5000 Year Old Harappan Township in Bhirdana About Banawali Mound Information-Fatehabad Origin-Architecture
Clinching evidence of a township of the 5,000-year-old Indus Valley Civilization (Harappan Era) has been found during excavations near Bhirdana village in Fatehabad district of Haryana . The excavations are being carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Banawali is an archeological site that is located at a distance of about 15 kms from Fatehabad city. This place was earlier called as Vanawali. There is not much habitation today at this site and it is a mound more famous as a tourist spot for those interested in historical and archeological excavations. Excavators have related the site to the Harappan and Pre-Harappan civilization. Archeologists have found the existence of a full-fledged town existing dating back to the pre-Harappan age (2800 BC - 2300 BC) and Harappan era (2300 BC - 1800 BC). Nanda Empire – 1st century A.D. Mauryan Dynasty – 1st to 2nd century Agras – 2nd century A.D King Prithviraj Chauhan – 11th century Sultan Masud -1192 A.D Emperor Feroz Shah Tughlaq– 1352 A.D – 1388 A.D Timor – 1388 A.D to 1398 A.D Mughal Emperor Babar, Humayun and Akbar – 14th century to 17th century Sikhs, Mughals and Bhattis – 17th century Maharaja Amar Singh of Patiala– 1774 A.D to 1781 A.D Bhattis – 1781 A.D to 18th century British – Early 18th century to 1947 are the rulers who ruled the kingdom. Fatehabad is famous for its archeological forts and monuments.
